Nature is unique and changing permanently, especially in south-western United States. Not entirely by chance and as far back as the eighties of last century, my work often took me to the US and to certain regions. States such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah were at the center of my photographic work. I soon realized that you need to intimately know the places you want to photograph and that you must know when and under what conditions you have to be there. This evolves into a sense for the spiritus loci and the motives.

My fascination for the world of light there, the colors and shapes, the vastness of the land – a powerful, lively, lonesome and calm world – is still unbroken. The deeply impressive deserts and semideserts in south-western United States, their gigantic rock formations, their wide open horizons are truly “Big Sky” country and take me back to essentials and inner calm.

These, in brief, are the reasons why I have specialized in nature and landscape photography. I hope you enjoy browsing through my website. Look at my pictures at leisure and begin to see Nature with new eyes.
